HELP...Need Meal Ideas!

(THESE PICS HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH MY POST, BUT THEY ARE FOR FUN AND YOUR VIEWING PLEASURE :) They are pics of Breanna's "swim" lessons, she loved them.

I am sick and tired of our dinners. I swear Rob and I go through the same meals over and over and over. I have very good intentions of cooking new things, but I have a pickier husband then he would admit. He really loves certain meals....Loves, LOVES....Loves....so the problem is, he'll want them over and over and there is VERY limited variety.

I have barely tried any new meal ideas b/c he'll never ask for them again. Or, he says, yum this is good but eats WAY less then he would one of the "normal" meals we have. So...lack of motivation is also a problem for me.

One last problem, on some particular days, and I don't know which one it will be, Rob will think of and decide what he wants for dinner. If I have already planned something else he will politely eat some and then go make what he really wanted....um, that's frustrating b/c why did I go to the work of cooking if he was going to ultimately make what he wanted anyways.

All this comes down to me rarely preparing a meal UNTIL Rob gets home from work so that I don't cause myself unnecessary work if he doesn't even want the meal I prepare. We are eating very late at night b/c he does not get home until 7:30ish and then we start preparing a meal after Breanna goes to sleep around 8pm, so 9pm has become our new "dinner time". (by the way I'm starving by this time.)

I need suggestions on:

1. New meal ideas that your family loves
2. How to vary our meals with being able to still have Rob happy (I want him to ENJOY his meal after a long day of work.....and I know he loves certain meals, but ultimately I'm SICK of these certain meals and have no motivation to cook them again and again and again.
3. Does anyone plan out menus? Could you share a sample "calendar" for me to look at?

Thanks for listening to me vent :)

PS- I love Rob and this is in no way to criticize him, I just need help with ideas for me and our Meal planning.

check out my friend ashley's blog http://ashcooks.blogspot.com/

she has a meal plan for every week with recipes, and they are soooooo good!

We keep it real simple- a protien, veggie and a grain. Not very exciting.

Ugh! I have the same problem with Noel. He is SO picky. Today I didn't feel like cooking so I got Subway sandwiches and he didn't like his or even finish it.
I have a blog with recipes I find that I want to try:
edibleeats.blogspot.com

Soon I will try to post some recipes that we like JUST FOR YOU. :)
You should look up how to make carne asada. Noel loves it and so do I.
Oh this comment is turning into it's own post:
I want to hear about Breanna's swim lessons. Is it for fun or do you think Breanna is getting something out of them? I've been debating about when to start Bryn.

Casey and I plan out the meals and put them on top of the grocery list. This helps to ensure we buy everything we need and when it comes time to make dinner we don't have to come up with a meal on the stop, we already have it picked. Casey and I are probably the least picky eaters ever, so we are always trying new meals. I will look at home for some good ones and post them.

That's a tough problem. I have a couple recipes that I think are really good and they always get good reviews! :) I will e-mail them to you. Oh, and they are easy too.

maybe it would be good to sit down with him and plan out meals, that way, you will have his input before you go through all the work. on my blog under heading "check it out" i have a link "simple dinners" that i sometimes find useful. also, i love watching the food network and i have found amazing meal ideas there. i just go to the website to print out recipes. good luck!

What are your plans next weekend? Does Rob have to work? We're trying to figure out when to come to Seattle.
