Swaddling Question

Ok, here is where you can help me out.......

Please let me know what was your favorite material to swaddle your newborn in. I'm looking online to buy some blankets to swaddle the new little guy and is cotton, flannel, etc. best, which one? Also, did anyone use any special brand or anything that they couldn't live without and made a huge difference?

We just used whatever blankets were given to us for Breanna and it worked, but she always got her arms out, and she was much happier with them in when she was newborn.....that's why I'm wondering if anyone has a favorite thing I could try out!

Goldfish

I don't know if this is b/c my belly is so much bigger then normal or what, but yesterday Breanna said.......

"Mommy no eat my fishies, k?"

Mind you, these are LIVE goldfish we're talking about.....

I can't figure out how to turn this the right way.....but, I bought a ballet video at a garage sale the other day, Breanna was so cute, trying to do the ballet and sing the song even though she had NEVER seen or heard it before!

BFF's

Rob and I got to go on a date a couple weekends ago...so nice! We went to Red Lobster where I got the Ultimate Feast, YUM, and pigged out on lobster, crab and shrimp. Then we went and saw the movie "Up". It was really cute and it was so fun to go on a real date together.

***I almost forgot a funny: Although we were on a romantic date together.....Rob proceeded to tell the hostess at Red Lobster and the waitress that we were on our first date.... :) Which led to an awkward stare by the hostess (b/c i'm soooooo pregnant) and a lot of laughs from our waitress. I love my husband, but he loves to randomly embarrass me :)

Thanks to the Ericksons for watching Breanna, especially since it was a random offer that Mary Jane gave me that morning that she would watch Breanna for us if we wanted to go on a date, since she was already watching children that evening for another couple to go out! What an amazing lady!!! Breanna had a BLAST at their house and so much fun with the kids. She really likes their daughter Savannah and the 2 of them are turning out to be quite cute little friends. We watched their kids on Friday this week to return the babysitting favor and I seriously think Breanna had the time of her life running around and playing all evening with the kids.

36 weeks

So i'm 36 weeks along now in the pregnancy.....due date is July 8th :) I almost have my hospital bag packed....about halfway, which is funny b/c last pregnancy I started bringing the bag in the car to my weekly appointments starting at 36 weeks and had packed it probably somewhere around 25ish weeks. (But the Dr. appt's were an hour away verses 10 min. and hospital was 1 hour and 20 minutes versus 15 min.).

Yesterday I had my appointment and I'm thinking of rescheduling all the rest of my appointments to Rob's day off or getting someone to watch her for the rest, b/c it's hilarious, but what went down yesterday I don't want to happen for 4 more weeks in a row :)

Breanna has come to ALL my appointments and has been amazing! She is well behaved, listens to directions and doesn't touch things she's not supposed to. She now knows the dr. "routine" and even informed me that I needed to "lay down.....listen , baby's heartbeat". (She also told the Dr. the same thing! As well as showed the dr. all her owies :)

But.......yesterday was a full exam and the one I had at the beginning of the pregnancy Breanna had sat in a chair and read a book and looked at the Dr. and nurse while they talked to her. This one was quite different! Breanna ran around the room laughing and kept pulling up the "sheet" and watching the Dr. totally examine me!!!! AAAAAHHH! She thought it was hilarious and she was quite curious. The Dr. said, do you think she has any ideas where babies come out? I said, no, she has no clue. She said, well she might know now! Today Breanna asked if my "bum bum okay from baby dr.?" So apparently she remembers what happened yesterday!!!! So, this is why I am "reconsidering" bringing her to the rest of the appointments :)

The best situation will be if Rob can come and be there for the appointments and take care of her while I get examined and then we can all be there together, without scarring Breanna!!
