Go Dad GO!!!

Tomorrow, April Fool's Day, my Dad will be getting a bone marrow transplant. He has been in the hospital for 6 days now getting chemotherapy and other drugs that are necessary prior to a transplant.

My Dad was diagnosed with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma (a type of cancer) Aug. 31, 2007 and has been through all sorts of doctors and chemotherapy since then. He is a fighter and a trooper and has made it successfully to this point.

He has a bone marrow donor (through the national bone marrow bank) is a GREAT match (because no family members were matches) and because of this is being able to have this huge procedure done.

Tomorrow is a BIG day, his new birthday, and I love him and pray that everything will go as planned. Any prayers on his behalf would be greatly appreciated. He is my hero and has already gone through so much and is being so courageous to go through this!

GO DAD GO!!

3rd trimester woes

Okay, I'm not in my 3rd trimester, but my sister Michelle is and I feel bad for her! The poor thing has had contractions since 28 weeks along, real ones too, not Braxton Hicks. They've been monitoring her since she's had to go to the hospital and since then she's had all sorts of complications that they've been monitoring. Low fluid level, baby not growing, belly not growing, contractions, more contractions, and more contractions.....YUCK.

I was terrified of the 3rd trimester when I was pregnant with Breanna, and kept thinking okay, when is it going to get worse, this isn't that bad. Yes, I was unconfortable, sore, etc...but overall my pregnancy was EASY in the 3rd trimester. They way women talk about it, they scare you so bad, but for me, I was fine.

Now, I understand that it is THAT BAD for some women. So, Michelle, I'm so sorry that you have had such a hard final trimester. She is now 36 weeks along, WAHOO, I'm so glad that you've made it this far, man I would be screaming for pain medication a long time ago if I DAILY had to endure what you have gone through. I apologize for being secretly mad at you through your 1st trimester (She had the EASIEST first trimester EVER). I admire you for getting through this with such a positive attitude!!! GO MICHELLE!

Did anyone else have a super hard 3rd trimester?

Rob

Happy Birthday to my wonderful husband :) I love him for so many reasons and am so happy that I get to have so much fun being married to my best friend. He's such a great Dad and does so much for us! I KNOW that this year is going to be a fantastic one for him and us and just want him to know how much I love and appreciate him!

I thought I'd copy (kind of) something I saw on my friend marci's blog...(this way the entire post isn't so lovey dovey).

I love him even when he.....

*tells me he'll wash the dishes and he doesn't
*breathes really hard in my face while i'm trying to sleep (now, i wear earplugs:)
*takes longer showers and longer to get ready then i do
*goes somewhere and it takes 2 hours longer then it really should
*buys things for himself, things i know he wants, so it makes it REALLY hard to buy a birthday/christmas present
*opens presents BEFORE christmas/birthday
*goes in breanna's room and gets her out of her crib (after i just did the whole bedtime routine) to spend some time with her when he gets home late
*told me until i gave in that life would miraculously be better if he had a cell phone (i know, i'm cheap, and i thought we'd been sharing one for 3 years, why do we need a 2nd one :)

Wicked

Last week we were able to use our Christmas present that we got this year and go see Wicked! It is such a wonderful musical and I loved every minute of it. Rob and I got to see it one other time in Denver when my parents took us, needless to say, we loved it and have wanted to see it since :)

Thanks to my mom's BFF Kathy, we got to have a night out without Breanna, and we stayed at their house in Vancouver overnight, got to have a scrumptious dinner beforehand and tourist around Portland the day after!! (The play was in Portland).

Breanna was an angel, especially in the car, b/c we hooked up a dvd player and she got to watch "pooh" and nap on the way down and watch "fishy" (nemo) and "princess" (cinderella) on the way home.

We had great seats, not in the nose bleed section like we're used to, and got there with time enough to relax and be excited for the play. The next day we went to a museum in portland (OMSI) that was awesome, it had a Leonardo Davinci exhibit that was cool and then the museum was filled with hands of stuff that we explored all day. There was even a "science playground" for kids under 6 and it basically had so much it was like going to a separate children's museum. Fun times.

It was a PERFECT day in Portland and we went walking by the river afterwards and even walked over a bridge into Downtown Portland. I had lots of fun and enjoyed our mini vacation out of Lacey :)
