July is a fun month!

I really enjoy July, especially in Washington. Now, July in Hawaii was not too fun, very hot, but it's so nice here and there seems to be excitement in the air because of it being summertime.

I'm so excited because our friends Ashley and Nate just welcomed their beautiful baby girl into the world on July 17th. She's adorable and I can't wait to meet her! Congrats to them and well done to Ashley.

I found another website that has free movies. Not great quality and I was watching one the other day and didn't finish it b/c I thought, oh well I'll watch it sometime this week....well, 2 days later the links were gone, so that be a warning, finish the movie if you have time :) Ok... http://www.free-tv-video-online.info/. I like the free movie thing, but it has annoying stuff like the website across the movie the ENTIRE time and also, what's with the advertising? I used to go to other websites but they all got the gross girl advertising now...it seems like I can't find one without this stuff.

Life is good right now. I'm actually just waiting for Rob to get home right now. He's been gone since 7 this morning and it's 9:45PM right now. I miss him. I miss the days of seeing each other on our lunch breaks and after I got home from work. Or he would stop by the office and visit me for awhile. :( I miss him.

So, we rode the bus to Tacoma last Friday to meet Rob so he wouldn't have to come all the way down here to pick us up and then drive up to Gig Harbor where we were meeting some friends. It's interesting b/c Breanna and I did this last week too and it's the SAME people that ride the bus, the nice thing is they're commuters who ride from Olympia to Tacoma and it's a "Express" bus, no stops!

I don't know how many of you watch The Office, but while I was riding the bus it occurred to me that these people all know one another, spend lots of time every day together and by only riding the bus 2 times, I've noticed that people have "assigned seating" or really, they just sit by those they enjoy talking to. There is this one lady who talks the ENTIRE trip to an older gentleman and he sits there and listens the ENTIRE trip. She complains about work, family, trying to lose weight, etc. I could tell by their conversation that they are only "bus buddies".

So I got to thinking, what motivates him to listen the entire trip instead of watching his DVD player, which he's had out both times, but hasn't gotten to watch? There are a few older men in the back of the bus, some ladies who sit together in the front, some loners in the middle (trying to take a cat nap). I know this may sound lame to you, but I was thinking that these people could definitely be a comedy. Instead of The Office, it would be called The Bus. A show about a bunch of quirky, yet normal, people that commute to work each day and the comedy that lies in their daily lives.
THE BUS

Friday 9/8 Central on NBC

I really think it might be funny. Well, now you know what I thought about the 2nd time we rode the bus. FYI- the only reason I know what the conversation between those folks was about is b/c she was sitting across from me and was NOT trying to have a secret conversation. It seemed she was trying to have the entire bus hear her!

Well, that's all for now!

Summer time

I love summer! It is wonderful and that's one of the reasons why I loved living in Hawaii. I love being able to be outdoors and enjoy the fresh air and the space that the outdoors gives you. I also really think that it refreshes and rejuvenates me.

So, remember the pretty pictures that I showed of Long Lake Park....well, the other day it got up to 99 degrees here, which doesn't happen very often in Western Washington, and I will show you a picture of what happens to the pretty park on a day of hot weather.....

Breanna and I have been surviving through her teething process. She is one unhappy baby right now and I feel so bad for her, but it's wearing on me too b/c she's SO cranky. I feel horrible for her, but it's hard b/c the things she normally enjoys aren't even being fun for her right now because she's having a hard time being distracted from her pain.

One of the things she loves the most is being in the frontpack and being outside on a walk....well that even failed today! She cried after only 10 minutes of being outside and didn't stop crying even when I took her out, carried her, sang to her, tried to distract her with leaves from a tree, keys, etc (she loves my keys and i never let her play with them....so she was REALLY cranky!)

She cried until I put her down for an early nap and same thing happened in the afternoon.

At least she's sleeping though for naps and at night, b/c that is amazing considering how she's acting during the daytime. I miss my easy baby! I know it'll pass soon, and I feel so badly for her, I just wish I could be the one hurting instead of her. I'm excited for her tooth though. She was biting my finger today and it's sharp poking through, so I hope it comes through soon so she feels better.

Man alive, I can't even remember what I used to think about all day before being a mom, b/c all I can remember is before being a mom, when I was pregnant, I thought about pregnancy all day long!

Besides the cranky past few days, Breanna and I are having alot of fun together. We really do enjoy each other's company! I love bringing her around other people though too b/c she loves new faces. She just smiles and smiles, it's so fun. At church she's enthusiastic whenever people talk to her and smile at her.

We went to the zoo with 3 other moms on Friday and she had more fun watching the kids then the animals! (I really don't think she noticed the animals....she did love the aquarium though and all the fish, she couldn't stop staring and smiling at them...and surprisingly loved the sharks too!) That was really fun though, to go around with other moms at the zoo, I highly recommend it, b/c although the kids love it, the moms love it too b/c we get to socialize since the kids are highly entertained with the animals. (i had it the easiest b/c I only have one baby, the rest of the ladies had 2 or 3 that they were chasing after :)

Too bad....my camera batteries died at the entry of the zoo :(

That's all for now!

The little things

Isn't it funny how sometimes the little things are what entertains your baby the most? Breanna had fun playing in the laundry basket today while I was doing laundry.

I'm really excited to tell some news.....I'm pregnant!

....just kidding! The exciting news is that I saw a tooth ready to break through in Breanna's bottom front gum! She's been fussy the past few days, and I finally figured out why....wahoo!

She's gonna have the cutest little tooth! I'm so excited, in the meantime, she's not having much fun, so I'm doing my best to keep her distracted!

Her new fake smile ... (both pics up and down)

Happy 4th of July!

Happy Independence Day (a day late)! What a beautiful summer day we had to celebrate. Fun, friends and food!

End of June

Well, its hard to believe that July is actually here time is going by fast, but we've done alot these past few months! We're looking forward to Wednesday, 4th of July, for celebration, Rob has the day off which is exciting! I'm very grateful to live in a free country and am proud to celebrate independence day.

Rob is still traveling around to Gig Harbor, Tacoma and Tukwila for training. He's enjoying himself, but is excited for August when he won't have to commute any longer (I'm very anxious for that too!)
Breanna is becoming the little explorer. I cannot even imagine how curious she will become when she can crawl around, she will want to explore EVERYTHING! Right now she's happy to play with anything she can reach and especially wants to grab at our faces and my hair! She is a very happy girl the majority of the time. We went to the doctor on Friday and she is a whopping 15 1/2 pounds!! The doctor commented on her chunky legs, which we love, and I honestly think they were quite beneficial for her, in regards to the shots she had to get.

I HATE SHOTS!!! It is so traumatic for me to hold down my little girls arms so that she can't move while they give her the shots, oh my, it makes me so sad and I absolutely hate it. She is the most precious thing and I have to subject her to pain, I really don't like it.

She did so well though, it is definitely more traumatic for me then for her. As soon as they finished the shots I picked her up, she was crying really hard, but when I picked her up she coughed (she likes to cough b/c it gets her attention) and then started smiling at the nurse who did the shots !!! Are you kidding me? And that was it, 30 seconds of crying!

Apparently naps are WAY more tortureous than shots!

I'm just glad to have it over with for another 2 months.

Breanna cannot sit up by herself yet.....not even close, but....she can fold up like a pretzel!
(This is a little closer to sitting up!)

One thing I really want to do is travel more. There are so many places I want to go and visit, or revisit. I love going on trips. I think travelling is one of my favorite things to do. If I could choose between a brand new car of my dreams and traveling, I would travel. I love Hawaii, I love cruises, I love going to different countries.

The fun thing about moving is that if you go somewhere, on a day adventure, it's like a mini vacation because you've never been there before!

Here's a list of places I want to go to in the near future:

1. A cruise, anywhere with Rob - he's never gone and we REALLY want to go together, Breanna would love it too!

2. Washington D.C. - tour the nations capitol ( i don't know if spelled that right?)

3. Europe - Doesn't matter where, multiple country trip would be wonderful. I would like to go to Prague, Germany, Italy, Greece, France, England, Switzerland, etc...

4. Tahiti

5. Oregon

6. British Columbia

7. I want to go crabbing - I've never done this and I want to go with Rob and catch big crab and have a seafood fest and eat tons and tons.

8. Boating - anywhere, preferably somewhere warm. I want to go on the boat with Breanna, she's never been on a boat. I also want to go tubing and waterskiing.

9. Anniversary vacation in December - It would be nice to go somewhere for the weekend, and have the grandparents watch Breanna :)

10. Hawaii - I will never stop loving that place!

Ok...my list could go on and on...that's enough for now!

Adventures with Breanna

Breanna and I are doing well at getting out of the house. On Monday we went to the grocery store....that is a 1.4 mile walk each way. We did that with the stroller, so that was fun, we got a movie and some waffles (wow, not much, but we needed to get out of the house!)

On Tuesday we walked to Long Lake Park. That is about 1 or miles to the park. It is nice with a small dock that people can go out on, which is fun. There's a trail back in the woods which is much nicer than being on the road.

Wednesday we walked to the library....2.8 miles, now that was killer! Breanna was on my frontpack and then I had a backpack on with all of her supplies in it...talk about shoulder and backache, yuck! But, Breanna was happy, so that's what matters, she loved the walk. We got a library card and checked out some books, cd's, baby sign language video and a workout video that you can do with your baby. (I guess it's supposed to help you get back into shape after having the baby and it's fun for you and the baby, so we're going to try it!)

I was very hot and sweaty by the time we made it to the library and so we decided to walk to the bus station and take the bus home! That was another 1/2 of a mile to the station. Then we waited for awhile for the bus. It came promptly on time, unlike the good old bus in Hawaii :). We got on it and rode home. It was nice and clean, there were just a few weirdos on the bus though, but nothing that we didn't feel safe about.

Today we walked to Long Lake Park again and we are going to go to a park tonight when Rob gets home, Tolmie State Park.

All I have to say, is I better be losing SOME weight from all this walking and carrying Breanna on my frontpack. I'm tired, have sore shoulders, back and legs...and we've been walking some hills, so it must be doing something right?? Now, if I could only stop craving desserts...maybe that would help!

We went to an enrichment group today and I was the only one there besides the group instructor!!! But, she was nice and at least I had someone to talk to, that was fun! Hopefully more will go next week, it's a humanitarian service group that makes things like beanies, mittens, etc. for people in different countries that don't have them. I love the idea. I only cut out patterns though b/c I'm not much of a seamstress!!

Well, that's my update. Breanna is doing well, babbling away, it's great fun. And......the best news of all.....she's sleeping from 8PM - 6AM!!!!!!! Without any feedings!!!!!!!!! I feel WONDERFUL! Hopefully she'll keep it up, b/c these last few nights have been heavenly.

We are now in Lacey, WA

Wahoo! We made it to Washington....what a trip. We drove from Parker, CO and had a pretty good time together in the moving truck, but yeah we were VERY sick of it when we finished. Only got in a few disagreements, but did pretty well considering we drove 1400 miles with a 4 1/2 month old baby!

Now we are moved into our wonderful townhouse. We got sick and tired of living at motel 6 while we waited for our place to open up. Not the best place to stay...but it was the cheapest :) We also had a kind hearted Bishop allow us to stay in his home for 2 nights, we were so greatful because we couldn't imagine one more night at motel 6 or more french bread and peanut butter....that got old!!

We love our new townhouse. It's 2 bedrooms, one and a half baths. It is two levels...very exciting and we just got a washer/dryer, it's paradise! We have internet now, which is great, no TV, but that's just fine for now. Breanna is really enjoying her new room and her new crib (thanks to Aunt Monica).

Rob started work today, well actually he started training, which will go through August 11th. The nice thing about training is that he'll have weekends off for the next 2 months, which is rare in the retail industry! We're so blessed and excited how well the move went for us. Our place is 3.5 miles from where Rob will be working once August comes, but for now he has to commute for 45 minutes a day there and back for 2 months :(

So...in the mean time, Breanna and I are looking for a way to get around...any ideas? We can walk to the nearest grocery store, it's only 1.4 miles away, but the library, church, walmart, mall, etc. are 4 to 5 miles away, so we're trying to figure out what we're going to do.

Life is good...now I just need to make some friends in Lacey, WA and everything will be great!
