Today

Today was a beautiful day.  70 degrees and sunny outside.  I had to help Rob with the tortilla route b/c his Friday helper quit last week.  (Not cool).  Luckily it went quickly and I knew Rob loved me when I got to my 3rd store that he had delivered tortillas to and I still saw his truck there.  I went in and found him putting tortillas on the shelf (my job for the day).  He stayed and we both did it together.  I know that doesn't sound like much, but that's not his job when he has lots of deliveries.  He also did 2 extra stores for me.  It was a very nice gesture :)

Poor Ethan had a rough day.  He had a fever, threw up and laid on the couch and his bed from 10am til bedtime at 7pm :(  I hope he feels better tomorrow.  He seemed so little all scrunched up and sick today. :(

That's all for now.  Going to bed since Luke kept us up from 1am to 3:30am last night (Rob had to get up at 4 and me at 5:30, so we're TIRED).

Goodnight.

Broncos Game

In January Rob, my Dad and I had the opportunity to go to the final Broncos playoff game.  My mom and dad were going and I bought the ticket for Rob to go for his birthday....but my mom got sick, so I got to go with!

It was single digits outside and freezing!  We dressed as warm as possible to endure the cold.  This was Rob and my first Bronco's game.  It was amazing (except for an awful ending with the loss).  The only sour point is all the tickets were single tickets.....we were spread all over the stadium!  So we went to the game together and then sat with strangers the whole time!

My strangers were nice.  There was a dad and son next to me who were cool and a kinda creeper guy on the other side, but all were pleasant and I enjoyed myself.

We got a cool orange towel to twirl in the air but it hurt to move and take my hands out of my pockets (even with gloves), so I kept mine in my bag.  During half time I walked up and down a ramp to try and warm up.

The crowd was so loud and amazing.  It was an experience of a lifetime.  There were over 76,000 fans in the packed freezing stadium.  Until next year.........

Keep Blogging

Since I had fallen off the bandwagon and was barely blogging I decided I really needed to try to just post one thing a day (we'll see how long that lasts).

There is so much that goes on in our lives and I don't journal....so this is me trying to journal for our family.

Today is Rob's b-day! I took the kids to Albertsons to buy a cake mix and frosting....Ethan went dressed as Ironman and Breanna took that as her opportunity to dress up as a parrot (her halloween costume for this last year).

She had the full beak on and was "flying" with her wings through the grocery store and pecking at Luke's head (he loved it - thought it was hilarious).

Some days I wish away the day b/c they are exhausting and life is mundane.  This little moment was so precious to me.  My kids running through the grocery store with not a care in the world except, "Mom, wait for me to get my wings on," (said Breanna).

No embarrassment, no worrying about what others thought, no cares except to fly through the store and be the costume they were dressed in. (this is an old pic, but shows what she looked like today).

I love them.

14 months

Luke is being fun for the majority of his life right now.  He is a good eater, walks like crazy, has started climbing on everything, and plays semi-well with his siblings.

He is a mama and daddy's boy....does not want to be left alone.  Wants to be held or lay on our laps, ALOT.

Sucks his thumb, loves his blankie.

Loves being outside.  Will sit down when I show him his shoes and put up a foot.

Tries to jump, gets 1 cm off the ground, sometimes.

Says, bab, when I ask if he wants his bottle.
Says, dada
Says, bu, when I say bum (for changing his diaper)
Will give you a high five if you ask.
Will give kisses if you ask.

Horrible sleeper at night.  Have sleep trained for months and he still will cry for 2-3 hours per night if not fed during the night.  I have given up and feed him now once per night.  I got to exhausted from the lack of sleep (rob too) so apparently he won, which is so frustrating.  I hate night time b/c of him.  I have never had a child this horrible for this long.  (Any suggestions highly appreciated, but if you don't believe in cry it out, that's ok, but please don't make me feel bad for doing it.  He's almost 15 months old and I haven't had a good night's sleep due to his sleep issues).

Loves his sister Breanna SOOOOO much.  Will eat food he won't eat from me, from her.  Will hold her hand and walk around the house.  Loves her attention. She's calm and kind to him.

Scared mostly of Ethan.  I would be too, Ethan pretends to punch and karate kick him (doesn't actually touch him) but always is in Luke's face.  Wants to touch him too much and be up in his face.  Luke either cracks up at Ethan when he thinks what he is doing is funny, or cries when he gets near him :)

Ethan's Listening Ears

Ethan told me the other day that Jesus was speaking in his heart.

I asked him, "What is he telling you?"

He replied, "I don't know, my listening ears are not in my heart."

Had to save this for memories later on.

Christmas 2012

We took the kids on the "car express" a couple nights before Christmas.  They found magic golden tickets in their beds when it was bed time and were told that they had to go that night.  We loaded them in the car with treats and jammies and dropped off Luke at Auntie Dede's b/c kids have to be over 1 year old for this adventure (no ticket in Luke's crib).  We drove around looking at Christmas lights and eating treats while listening to Christmas music! It was so fun.  The kids fell asleep on the way home, they were "SOOOOOO tired."  (At 7:45pm :)  They definitely enjoyed this special night.

Christmas morning..... Breanna got a puppy that she can "walk" around with a leash.  It also barks and moves.  Luke was terrified of it at first, then learned he could push it over and now he does that and laughs.  Ethan and Breanna got remote control monster trucks from Santa Claus.  Ethan's is black and Breanna's is red, so they can tell them apart.  Breanna was thrilled, saying, "Santa even knew our favorite colors!"  Luke is also scared of the trucks.  Luke got a stuffed puppy from us and a huge thing of "milk" (formula) from Santa, b/c that's all he asked for this year :)

Sitting there trying to figure out why all these items were zooming around the house.

We really enjoyed having my parents there for Christmas morning.  I somehow didn't manage to capture any pics of Rob or myself, but we were there orchestrating the whole thing!  Rob got me an awesome coat and snowpants, they are nike and the cutest/most fashionable/warm coat and snowpants I've ever owned.  I've used them 3 times already taking the kids sledding.  Rob got a few cool workout shirts, a sweatshirt and sweatpants from nike he really wanted.  We had a really yummy breakfast, french toast, eggs, bacon and piticia (brought by my parents).  Dinner was roast, potatoes and green beans.  Rob cooked everything!  He's my Christmas present with all that cooking!  2012 was a great year.  This Christmas was so enjoyable, not carrying 35 extra pounds around like last year.  Luke's b-day is 3 days after Christmas, so yesterday he turned one!  I will post about that soon.

We had a miracle on Christmas.  We took the kids sledding and went to a steeper hill b/c the snow was fresh and so soft that the sleds were really slow.  The kids had a blast.  There is a pavillion at the bottom of the hill so I had the kids pointed away from it.  Rob had just gone home to get rope so we could make a contraption to pull the sleds back up the hill.  Breanna went down the hill head-first on her sled and somehow had turned toward the pavillion. I was holding Luke and watched as she headed straight for a cement pole, I screamed but couldn't do anything, she was going too fast.  She corrected just a tiny bit and then hit into the pole.  It was a loud smack and I waited for her response as I went down the hill holding Luke.  She didn't do anything for a second then held her head and started screaming.  I was terrified.  I went and held her and put Luke next to me (and he started crying).  I saw no blood, but worried that I hadn't seen where she hit yet.  I yelled for Rob b/c I saw him coming.  He carried her home.  Somehow she managed to hit on the side of her head right by her ear.  This is the miracle b/c she was headed for it straight on the front of her head.  She got a big goose egg, and brusing under the ear, a "rug burn" type burn on her ear that quickly turned into blood bruising.  She screamed and cried, but 15 minutes later was okay.  We had her take it easy for quite some time with an ice pack and tylenol and laying on the couch.  She hit hard enough she should have had a concussion, split open her head or broken something.
I was terrified that we were going to be in the hospital that day when I watched her smack her head into a cement pole.  I am so grateful that she's okay and really was hurt very little compared to what it could have been.  Apparently how she adjusted right at the end was the perfect angle to protect her.

That sums up our Christmas, besides the typical Christmas movies we also watched that evening! Merry Christmas!

Look who got stuck

Luke decided to empty all the toys and the bins off a shelf the other day.  During the process, he got stuck.........

Pretty hilarious!
